In 1977 Alex and Katherine Zelos purchased Mary Janes and really turned it into a Gem of the Norfolk coast. It has remained in the family with numerous generations running and working at the establishment ensuring the tradition and values that both Alex and Katherine started remain to this day.

In the early days it was a small fish and chip takeaway with a minimal menu, opening only a couple days a week and offering ice creams from a side window to try boost sales. But through hard work and perseverance the Zelos family and staff have turned the premises into a well known, successful and accommodating fish bar and restaurant, with a menu that will satisfy most peoples taste buds and a stylish restaurant that seats up to 62.

For decades, Mary Janes has been dedicated to supporting the local communities in a variety of ways including charity work and supporting local sports teams. Mary Janes has been grateful to all of its customers over the years and this is a small gesture of giving back to the community.
